1945	Never Implemented	Recommended Improvement Map	LA Metro Archives	Funding was never approved by voters. On the map red indicates rail and green indicates dedicated bus lines.
1954	Never Implemented	Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority proposal	LA Metro Archives	Never got beyond proposal stage
1961	Never Implement	Backbone Route plan	LA Metro Archive	A number of the subway stations were designed to double as fallout shelters.
2024	Proposed	Los Angeles Future Rail	Cal Urbanist	Independent design based on LA Metro's proposal to switch to a letter designation system.
